Asymptotically Justified Boundary Conditions for a Viscoelastic Two‐Phase Fiber Model

نویسندگان

چکیده

In this work we present asymptotically justified boundary/interface conditions for a viscoelastic two-phase fiber model with flow-enhanced crystallization. While the equations are well-established in literature, choice of boundary is still under discussion as they might cause artificial layering at crystallization onset. We show that our avoid such layering, yielding regularly perturbed value problem either continuous or discontiunous interface.

A General Boundary Element Formulation for The Analysis of Viscoelastic Problems

The analysis of viscoelastic materials is one of the most important subjects in engineering structures. Several works have been so far made for the integral equation methods to viscoelastic problems. From the basic assumptions of viscoelastic constitutive equations and weighted residual techniques, a simple but effective Boundary Element (BE) formulation is developed for the Kelvin viscoelastic...

Decay Rate for a Viscoelastic Equation with Strong Damping and Acoustic Boundary Conditions

This paper is concerned with a nonlinear viscoelastic equation with strong damping: ( ) ( ) 0 , d 0, t t tt tt t u u u u g t s u x s s u ρ − ∆ − ∆ + − ∆ − ∆ = ∫ . The objective of the present paper is to provide some results on the long-time behavior to this equation with acoustic boundary conditions. By using the assumptions on the relaxation function due to Tatar [1], we show an arbitrary rat...

Optimal Boundary Conditions for ORCA-2 Model

A 4D-Var data assimilation technique is applied to a ORCA-2 configuration of the NEMO in order to identify the optimal parametrization of the boundary conditions on the lateral boundaries as well as on the bottom and on the surface of the ocean. The influence of the boundary conditions on the solution is analyzed as in the assimilation window and beyond the window. It is shown that optimal cond...

A fiber-reinforced Transversely Isotropic Constitutive Model for Liver Tissue

Biomechanical properties of soft tissue, such as liver, are important in modeling computer aided surgical procedures. Experimental evidences show that liver tissue is transversely isotropic. In this article, considering the liver tissue as an incompressible fiber-reinforced composite with one family of fibers, an exponential strain energy function (SEF) is proposed. The proposed SEF is based on...

Generalized boundary conditions for general relativity for the asymptotically flat case in terms of Ashtekar’s variables

There is a gap that has been left open since the formulation of general relativity in terms of Ashtekar’s new variables namely the treatment of asymptotically flat field configurations that are general enough to be able to define the generators of the Lorentz subgroup of the asymptotical Poincaré group. While such a formulation already exists for the old geometrodynamical variables, up to now o...
